Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)

School Board Access to the District's Public Records In accordance with the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140/1 et seq.), the disclosure of public records maintained or received by School District 151 shall be made available to members of the public, upon request. 

The Superintendent shall be responsible for compliance with the provisions of the Illinois Freedom of Information Act and shall be authorized to develop and implement administrative regulations for processing record requests under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, in conformance with the Act.

Fees for the copying and certification of public records, based upon actual reproduction and certification costs to the District (exclusive of the expense of any search or review of the records which may be involved) shall be in accordance with the fee schedule available in the School District Business Office.

The Board President or the Superintendent shall, at each regular Board meeting, report any requests made of the District under the Freedom of Information Act, and shall report the status of the District's response.
