About Us
About South Holland School District 151
South Holland School District 151 is a Pre-K through 8th grade school district that serves approximately 1350 children from four communities. The district operates four schools that are organized as grade centers. Taft School, in Harvey, begins our students' educational journey from Pre-Kindergarten through First Grade. Eisenhower School and Madison School are located in South Holland. Eisenhower is our Second and Third Grade center while Madison educates students in Fourth and Fifth grade. Finally, Coolidge Middle School, in Phoenix, serves our Sixth through Eighth Grade students.
Our school district strives to balance academic, physical, social, and emotional needs so that students experience all sectors of learning. The dedicated team of educators and staff delves into the Common Core learning standards to create lessons connecting learning through authentic means. In conjunction with our standards-based curriculum, assessments (both formative and summative) provide feedback to students, staff, and families. This information forms the basis for future goals to support student learning.
South Holland School District 151 provides students with a well-rounded education consisting of both Core (i.e., Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies) and Encore (i.e., Physical Education, Art, Music, STEM, Culinary Arts, Social Emotional Learning, and Fine & Performing Arts) instruction. In addition, our school district offers numerous extracurricular programs, activities, and clubs.
South Holland School District 151 is committed to providing all students an excellent education. We invite all students, families, and community members to reinforce this commitment by being involved in the schools and working together with our staff to provide the best educational opportunities for all students.
